The Carbon Coach: your energy transition partner

To support the Monegasque community in its efforts to reduce greenhouse gases, the Mission for Energy Transition created the National Energy Transition Pact in 2018. A tool to promote progress, the Pact allows everyone to contribute in their own way to the Principality’s energy transition.

It brings together all of the actors of change, both individuals and businesses, around the three main pillars of the energy transition: transport, waste and energy.

A survey carried out in 2020 showed the significant impact of the initiatives put in place: one year after signing the Pact, the outcome was positive with 98% of signatories motivated to continue with their commitments. (Click here if you’d like to learn more about the results of the survey).

In support of these efforts, the Mission for Energy Transition launched a new digital membership, monitoring and support platform for the National Pact in September last year: the Carbon Coach.

Just like a real coach, the platform offers in-depth support to help Pact signatories keep and fulfil their commitments. By providing signatories with access to events, news, challenges, surveys and tips, the Carbon Coach helps them to achieve their energy transition goals more quickly and effectively.

The Carbon Coach also gives users an opportunity to respond to monthly challenges and surveys on a topical theme. In addition, lots of events and workshops are organised on a variety of issues. Some examples include:

• Christmas tree workshop
• Eco-friendly digital technology workshop
• Monaco Economic Board webinar on waste reduction

The Coach can also calculate your carbon footprint at any point. By understanding your impact and identifying the areas in which you could improve, you are already doing something positive for the planet.
