Highlights of Mission for Energy Transition’s visit to Expo 2020 Dubai!

4-La MTE à l_expo Dubai 2020

The Mission for Energy Transition took part in the Universal Expo in Dubai from 18 to 24 October, with the aim of sharing the Principality’s expertise on seawater heat pumps.

Here’s a look back at the highlights of our week in Dubai.

Keys to the energy transition

The team’s goal was to train staff at the Monaco Pavilion on the key aspects of the Principality’s energy transition.

A charter was also drawn up with all of the staff as a reminder of the things they can do to reduce the Pavilion’s carbon footprint at the exhibition as well as in everyday life.

Monaco Pavilion signs Pact!

Another highlight of the week in Dubai came when Albert Croesi, Managing Director of the Monaco Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, signed the National Pact on Friday 22 October in the presence of the entire staff. Annabelle Jaeger-Seydoux, Director of the Mission for Energy Transition, attended the signing ceremony live from the Expo 360 mini-pavilion on Monaco’s Port Hercule.

Last but not least: ocean thermal energy loops!

The final highlight of the Mission for Energy Transition’s visit to Dubai came in the form of two conferences about ocean thermal energy loops on Saturday 23 October.

Monaco has expertise on seawater heat pumps dating back to 1963, making the Principality a global leader in the field.

To discuss the issues, the Mission for Energy Transition sought help from its international partners: heat pump supplier Trane and Dalkia, a member of the EDF group, which has installed and operated these solutions.
