'Low-carbon strategy’ support

'Low-carbon strategy’ support

The Monaco Government has decided to support Monegasque businesses in their energy transition.

The aim is to :

  • Reduce the Principality's direct and indirect carbon footprint
  • Contribute to achieving the national objective of carbon neutrality by 2050, a commitment made by the Principality as part of the Paris Agreement
  • Make companies more competitive on the market by distinguishing themselves by offering eco-responsible products or services and by their efforts to reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

Entities that are signatories to the National Pact are also entitled to voluntary support, going further than the Pact's commitments and provided by expert consultants, to define a low-carbon strategy for their establishment. This is a two-stage process:

  • Carrying out a GHG emissions assessment of their emissions in terms of mobility, waste production and energy consumption, as well as their purchases
  • The definition of objectives and a strategy to reduce their emissions, in line with the Paris Agreement and the Principality's commitments

The goals

  • To accelerate my organisation's commitment to the energy transition towards a low-carbon economy
  • To equip myself with an efficient, easy-to-understand management tool and set my own carbon reduction targets
  • To discover and exchange with a wide variety of players from Monaco's economic, associative and institutional spheres who are committed to the energy transition

What does this support involve?

For each session, support consists of the following elements, spread over a period of 8 months:

  • Plenary webinar to bring together the community of committed players, present details of the support and data to be collected and launch the support programme
  • Group workshops with other organisations that look like me (of a similar size, in the same sector and/or with the same level of maturity on GHG assessment issues) for discussions that correspond to the reality of my business.
  • Easy-to-use support tools that complement the Pact's Carbon Coach, to help me assess my impact and define my GHG emissions reduction targets.
  • A carbon coach, my privileged contact, to coach me throughout the process, answer my questions and validate the results obtained with me.
